In 2005, the annual Canadian Scene of the Crime Festival takes place
Saturday, August 13, with events for mystery readers and writers, including
workshops, panels, and our popular church supper.
Once again we will be presenting our Grant Allen Award to a crime
writing pioneer. Come and meet the 2005 recipient, William Deverell,
Hammett and Arthur Ellis awards-winning author and creator of TV's Street
Legal.
And new in 2005: Booze, Boats and Bill - a presentation by author Bill
Hunt, an expert in Prohibition-era tales, criminal and otherwise.
PLUS:
- More
mystery authors, including J.D. Carpenter, H. Mel Malton,
Peter Sellers, Sylvia Warsh and
poker-champ-turned-writer Rick Gadziola;
- A
home-made lunch served up with Island hospitality;
- Panel
discussion moderated by retired citizenship court judge and
broadcaster Roy Bonisteel;
- All-new
workshop for beginning writers;
- Old-fashioned
church supper with authors ... and keep your fork, there's fresh-baked
pie!
