This is a difficult book to review without giving anything away. You may think you know what is going to happen but read on, this author knows how to write a story, intelligent, insightful, and a very good read.

Georgia Fitzpatrick’s Tinder date doesn’t turn up. As she waits at the bar, she meets Luke Kauffman; he gets rid of a couple of men hitting on her. Luke is everything she could wish for, handsome and a gentleman.

Georgia is a well-written character - she has had her problems but is now getting her life together. She is a kind girl, a nurse who really cares about her patients and friends. Georgia is swept away by Luke, the perfect boyfriend, caring and protective.

Luke tells Georgia that he is still living with his ex-girlfriend Cadence, but she won’t let him go. Georgia starts to get threatening texts and notes on her car. She is being stalked, but Georgia has finally found the man of her dreams and she isn’t going to give in without a fight.

Georgia takes Luke to meet her family and he quickly moves in with her. Cadence won't give him up easily, she becomes the supreme stalker, she seems to know everything that Georgia does and everywhere she goes. Georgia’s flat is burgled, she is suspended from work when missing drugs are found in her handbag.

Moriarty gives us a set of believable characters showing the reader how easy it is to be deceived and to give trust to people we think we know. She also gives us insight into mental illness, depression and low self-esteem.

The plot is nicely paced if a little predictable (at time) but rounded-up with a fine twist. The subplots add to the characterisation and underpin the story adroitly.
